Letter to Arthur Mutual Customers

As of Friday, December 7, 2007 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has placed very specific restrictions on us as to what information we can release and to whom we can release it to. This information is referred to as Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI). In other words, this has been put into place to protect your privacy.

We are now required by law to ask you to provide identification and/or provide your password before we will be able to discuss any portion of your bill or make changes to your account.

We will only be able to discuss your account information with the person who has his/her name on the billing unless that person has specifically designated you in writing to be an authorized person. Unfortunately, a spouse does not automatically become an authorized person.

If you happen to call in with questions regarding your bill, want to make changes to your account, etc. and you are the person whose name is on the billing or you have been named as an authorized person we cannot rely on Caller ID to verify who you are. We will have to hang up and call you back at the number listed on your account unless you know your password. We will not be able to help you if you have not set up a password and are calling from a number other than your home number.

If you happen to be paying a bill for anyone other than yourself you must have the bill with you! We are prohibited by law to disclose any information about another subscriber's account. That includes any balance due even if you have their permission to receive that information.

Please help us by always bringing your entire bill with you should you choose to pay at the office. That will be the first step in making this transition a bit smoother.

Thank-you for your patience and understanding.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
